Meet Dr. Annie!

Dr. Annalee Fencl is a native of Northeast Iowa, growing up in rural Lawler. Annalee attended the University of Iowa for her undergraduate studies, earning her Bachelors in Business Administration in 2009. In 2013, she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Iowa and decided to further her training and successfully completed a two-year post-graduate residency specializing in pediatric dentistry at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in 2015. While in dental school, Dr. Fencl received several awards for high academic and clinical achievement, including excellence in restorative dentistry and implantology. She was elected by her instructors into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a national dental honor society.

During her residency, Dr. Fencl provided comprehensive clinical care for children of all ages including emergency care, procedures in the dental office using conscious sedation, and treatment in the operating room under general anesthesia. Dr. Fencl also had significant training in the care of children with special health care needs. She routinely worked with individuals on the cleft palate team, hemophilia team, and patients receiving inpatient care at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Since opening in 2015, Dr. Fencl is proud to have expanded pediatric dental services offered to the families of NE Iowa and the tri-state area, including treatment under general anesthesia and with the aid of IV sedation. Other areas of interest include infant oral healthcare, such as treating lip and tongue-ties and supporting breastfeeding mothers, and helping guide anxious patients (and parents!) to create a positive dental experience. 

Dr. Fencl is a board-certified pediatric dentist, and an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Iowa Dental Association, and Dubuque Dental Society. Dr. Fencl dedicates herself to providing the best dental care possible for her patients, ensuring that they have a positive and fun experience while learning to care for their own oral health. She places heavy emphasis on developing good oral hygiene habits with your child so that dental decay can be prevented for a lifetime.
 
Dr. Fencl and her husband Cody have three children, Eloise, Franklin & George.
